Asher felt mortified that he had said those three words only to not hear them returned back yet he pressed on, knowing he couldn't dwell on that matter. He sat down beside her since standing wouldn't get them anywhere. "I want you to not be scared or fearful. Everything in life takes risks including us," he said softly. "I want to be there with you and helping you defeat anything that stands in the way of what could be something great. But most of all, I want you to be happy, and I know I can do that for you."

Summer shallowed hard as she stared at the ground, "I-How can I be happy when I could be responsible for Riley's death, or worse, yours..." she choked out the last bit in a much quieter whisper. She hated this. She wanted exactly what he wanted, but it wasn't going to happen. There was no way that she would stop fearing for his life, especially since she was struck. Leaving him would hurt him, not leaving him would hurt her brother, what was she supposed to do?
"Ash, I'm taking a risk... A risk that I must take." she said slowly in a hushed whisper.

"So am I," said Asher. "I'm taking a risk too, and my risk is not letting you do this. You will put us in even more misery if you go through with this yet you can't live life with only part of yourself coming through. I will do everything in my power to protect Riley if that's what it means to love you. Nothing in life is easy yet you shouldn't end yours because you don't see any other way." He was pleading now, and he wouldn't ever give up. He wanted to do something right, to kiss her, to hold her, but she would just pull away.

((Haha, weird song came on and now I'm gonna use it. ))
It's the things that he said, so flamable. She didn't want to hurt anybody but her heart just can't hold back. It was the way he made her feel. Spinning her world around, how could she walk away? Shallowing hard, she didn't know what to say in reply. He was just confusing her brain, she was so unsure of what to do. "Asher, please." she pleaded in return as she turned to him. She was going weak inside by just looking at him. It was the way that he was making her feel. "Ash, do you ever pay attention in potions?" she tried to laugh but it sounded weird. She had to convince him.

((Lol, okay))
Asher shook his head at her feeble attempt to laugh. "No," he said in a glum voice. "My attention is only drawn to one person in that class so what do you expect." He wish things were like the movies where he could just say something really cheesy and everything goes better. Unfortunately, this was RP world and that's not always the case.

Summer attempt to smile but it looked more pained then happy. She couldn't think of her useful comeback for that, she was different. "I'm guessing it wasn't the teacher." she said with a sigh, "If you did, then you'd know that there is a cure so I won't die." she said firmly. She had mustered up all her confidence and canon balled it into the water for him, she was going to be firm. It was a half-lie since she could die but yeah, "Merc's just worrying cause that's what he does..." she said softly in an attempt to joke.

"Then that's a good guess," responded Asher as he tossed a rock deeper into the forest in his depressed state. He didn't believe her in her next statement and shook his head. "If you won't die, then why take it?" he asked, glancing up at her. "Unless of course you're lying to me and you could die."

Oh bugger... great, get yourself struck in that one... She thought to herself. "Well no..." she started slowly, "It's so my dad and the hag of a mother appear at the school... Yeah, you might want to run at that point." she said glancing up at him. She knew that she could die but she was willing to take that risk.

"And why do they need to appear?" questioned Asher simply, not seeing where she was getting at. He rubbed his eyes in the type of fashion where it was easily recognizable that he was tired. He wasn't going to give up though, so he would just have to deal with his fatigue. He cared more about Summer than some stupid sleep obviously.

Sighing, "Asher, you didn't want to be brought into this." she said slowly as she noticed the lack of sleep that he had, "Please just go to sleep." she said as she feebly attempted to get up herself. "And if you see a evil b-witch with long black hair and murderous looks that could kill, run the other way as fast as you can." she warned as she pushed herself, in another feeble attempt to get up and run off into the Slytherin Common Room.

Asher stood up, but he remained in the same spot that he was in before. "I'm not going to bed unless I know you're safe. And I doubt that I'll feel that way for a long time, so I guess I just won't be sleeping too much any time soon," he said. "And you're not gonna take that bloody potion. You've gotta be kidding yourself if you think you can. No good things that come as a result will weigh the bad things that also come if you take it," he explained.

She rolled her eyes slightly, "Come on, Ash. It's a long story, one that I won't bore you with so just go." she said slowly. She was going to drink it if it was the last thing she did, which her RPer would just like to point out could actually be the last thing she did if she died. But she wasn't going to, since Riley's RPer would kill Summer's RPer... She realised it might be pointless in trying to get him to go without an explanation. Sighing, she added, "My parents need to come so Merc can go and save Riley when they aren't home...." she said slowly, in hope that he would understand.

Asher couldn't think of anything to say. He had used up every ounce of sense that he could try and give yet she was still firm in her belief that the potion was her only way; possibly even more firm. He had never felt so useless in his life. Wasn't love supposed to make you happy? Wasn't it supposed to give you strength? He certainly didn't feel strong. Asher remembered the feeling back the first time he had kissed her. It wasn't love, but it was hope and excitement for what lied ahead. Now everything had happened and now it all lied behind them. There was nothing more for Asher to say and do since ultimately everything would be up to Summer.
As soon as this realization hit him, he felt as if his heart was about to break. He had lost his trust in Summer and so he didn't trust her to not take the potion. She would be lost, and Asher couldn't do anything about it. He could only enjoy this interaction now since he doubted that he would ever see or feel about her again the same way as he did now, no matter if she lived to tell the tale or died. For that, he leaned in slowly and gave her the kiss that he wished he could have had the courage to give her in Hogsmeade but was too foolish to do so.

((Great so I can't ask my corny question now... That sucks...))
Summer let out a soft sob as she knew it would never be the same between them. If he had a better idea then he should feel free to say it, but seeing as he wasn't coming up with any, she knew what she had to do. She hated to do it now, since they had spoken for the first time since the lake incident but she couldn't back down now. Wanting to turn and kiss him, she prevented herself and forced herself not to. After a while of silence, she broke it with a small hoarse whisper that had removed her firmness and brought back the feeble state, "Don't let her see you..." She warned softly as she shook slightly again.

Asher looked down at the ground at these words, not taking them in. "Is there any way to stop you from doing this?" he asked slowly, in a last desperate attempt. He sighed and willed himself to say the next bit. "I would rather not be with you and leave you alone for the rest of your life than watch you end yours now," he mumbled, glancing up at her.
