Jack walked confidently down the seventh floor corrider feeling glad to be back inside Hogwarts' walls, even if it was only for a small visit. He peered around, looking for the stone gargoyle and eventually found it. I've certainly forgotten a lot of things about this place, he thought as he stepped up to the gargoyle. Jack remembered that the password was often something to do with candy, but he couldn't seem to get it. Just my luck. Hopefully Lizzie will come up here soon, he thought as he leaned against the walls waiting. He was glad to be seeing an old friend since he had missed Elizabeth. ((There ya go. It's Jack! )

Lizzie rolled her eyes as she made her way back up to her office, in attempt to go through the dozens of owls that she had received. She had just been around the grounds, checking and comfirming that all the defenses where in place and that extra ones were put in too. She didn't want parents to feel unsafe or unsure about sending their child back here, so she had to comfirm i it for herself so that she could assure them that she will do her best. Lizzie jumped off the stairs and strided to her office. As she approached, she noticed someone who seemed like Evan standing by her door and wondered what he could want. She suddenly halted as she noticed the different shade of hair colour and smiled as she realised who it actually was. "Jack!" she let out in excitement as she ran up to him and engulfed him in a hug.

Jack was startled by the running hug, but quickly returned it. "I guess that's a good sign you want to see me," he grinned as he broke apart with Lizzie. He looked at her and commented, "You look great. I guess the new Headmistress spot is treating you well. I couldn't believe it when I saw the article. It's fantastic," he spoke in a quick voice that showed he clearly hadn't seen her in a long time.

Lizzie grinned and didn't show the many times that she had been annoyed by her new position, as it had kept her busy. She let go of him and frowned with a hint of irritation in her voice, "And why haven't you kept in touch then?" she asked as she did her childish play that made her look rather like a spoilt child. She knew that Jack would know she was just joking but it will hurt her that he hadn't been in touch and that she only recently discovered what he did for a living.

"Is it only my fault that we haven't stayed in touch? What about you; I don't remember any owls coming to my window with a letter from you," he said with a grin on his face. He could tell that Lizzie was partly serious and apologized quickly, "Sorry, you know? But I lost track with a lot of people so don't take it personally."

Lizzie remained stubborn for a brief more minute, then gave in like she always did. "Don't worry about it!" she exclaimed happily, just happy to see him again, "Let's just say it's mutual agreement that we're both to blame." she said as she knew he was right. She didn't owl him a dozen times either. Then she glanced around and noticed that they were still outside, "Come on in." she said to him as she indicated to the gargoyle, "Honeydukes", she muttered. Once the staircase was revealed, she stepped up onto the spiral staircase and waited for Jack to join her before opening the door to her office.

Jack followed her up into her office. "I was trying to get the password, but I just couldn't remember it. I knew it had something to do with sweets though," he explained to her. "So..." He paused, remembering something that had been weighing on his mind. "I see my brother has filled your DADA position," he said slowly.

Lizzie entered into the office, waited for Jack to pass and then closed the door behind her. She indicated to a seat before taking her own on the other side of the desk. She knew Jack wanted to discuss something so she didn't bother to reply the password comment with anything but a friendly smile.
I see my brother has filled your DADA position.
She nodded slowly and she shallowed, unsure of his reaction to this, "Yeah." she simply said. She knew that they both disliked each other so she wasn't sure on how he'd take this. "He was the best application" she added, feeling a need to enforce her decision. "But feel free to find someone else." she added jokingly, in attempt to remove the tension that grasped the air, as she indicated to the rather large pile of teaching applications that she had yet to go through.

"I never thought it'd be in Evan's nature to want to teach," said Jack in a 'casual' voice as he took the seat that Lizzie had shown him. "He certainly never expressed an interest in it from what I seem to recall, but I guess people change."
Jack's eyebrows rose high when he saw the stack of teaching applications. "I didn't think that many people were keen to apply," he commented to Lizzie.

Lizzie laughed and shrugged upon Jack's comment about Evan, "He's changed then, I guess." she said with a grin. "Is he why you're here?" she asked. She had a feeling that Jack wanted to know why Evan was here when Evan seemed like the type that wouldn't want to teach.
Lizzie quickly eyed the pile, "Ok, so not all of it's applications." she said sighing as it also contained various notes and articles from the Ministry and parents, "But a good few are!" she added quickly. She sighed helplessly, "Most people prefer not to apply but a few know that the students need to learn in order to defend themselves." she explained to him, not sure why she was explaining it. "What to help me out?" she asked hopeful.

Is he why you're here?
"Partly," said Jack honestly. "I'm sorta... checking up on him if you put it into words. I haven't seen him in a good long time so I'm curious about uh-" Jack stopped abrubtly as he didn't want to go into detail. Usually he was straight forward with his thoughts, but Jack was always a bit different about his brother.
What to help me out?
"Oh sure," nodded Jack with a smile. "I can't stay forever since there's a lot of paperwork to fill out back at the office. Apparently one of our trainee Aurors accidently killed a subject's dog while on a mission and the subject isn't too happy. Typical trainee. Always doing their own thing," explained Jack, shaking his head. "Riley Finn or something is his name."
((No, Riley's not gonna enter this forum. But his name might be thrown around a few times...))

Lizzie laughed, "Sounds better then this." she said rather amused, at how someone could accidently kill a dog but figured he must have been slightly on the dorky side.
"Sounds like you trust him." she said jokingly, she wondered if they had met yet but was hoping that she wouldn't be apart of that meeting as it was likely not to look good.
[[Lmao, yeah just had to add the "Dorky bit" in it lol.]]

"It actually isn't. The paperwork is quite extensive for something so comical," explained Jack. "The forms include everything from the 'crime' to the mother's maiden name, birth date, and favorite color. Obviously it gets a bit tedious." He grinned a bit though to show that he didn't mean it was too bad.
Sounds like you trust him.
Jack shrugged at this. "So what exactly do you want me to help you with?" he questioned as he glanced at the large stack of papers again.

Lizzie's soft laugh ran through the room, "Ok, sorry. It's not funny." she said rather quickly in an apologetic tone. "Better then trying to persuade students to join" she said with a sigh. Being Headmistress really didn't suit her, but she was one of the few candiates who was willing to do it. Lizzie shrugged, "Don't worry, seems like you have a lot of on your plate already." she said pushing aside the stack of parchment so she could rest her elbows on the table, and her head in her hands. "So, tell me, what are you doing here?" she asked curiously yet politely. It wasn't a harsh tone to suggest that he wasn't wanted but a curious one to wonder why, after many years did he come back. She had a feeling it was a little more then what he had told her. She was hoping that it wasn't yet another warning, she had received only too many from her granddad and other guardians after she took this post, which some death eaters would kill her for. [[ Yup!]]

I'm here to give a warning ... and possibly a threat... to Evan And to you to stay away from Evan. "Actually, I'm going to be here often since I've been assigned to be giving regular check-ups on the school," Jack said, half-honestly. It was part of the reason, so he wasn't lying. "They want to make sure that it's in good hands and well protected and apparently I'm the man for the job." He paused, wondering if he should give her a warning on Evan. He bit his lip and then decided it would be best. "And I-"
There was a sudden knock on the door from someone outside the office. "'Ello? Elizabeth?" called out Evan as he knocked on the door again. He wanted to ask her a few questions on the lesson plans he'd been making and since he couldn't find her anywhere else in the castle, Evan thought she might be in her office. However when he passed the stone gargoyle (he'd spent too many detentions not to know what the password was), Evan swore he heard his brother's voice.
