Jan just got a letter from a famous African witch doctor that said he might have found the antidote to her curse. She had to leave for at least a few weeks while she go to Africa. She climbed up the staircase after passing the gargoyles and knocked on the door of the Headmistress. She thought giving a week's notice would be enough for her to gather material for any substitute.

Lizzie scribbled down a reply to the ministry, slightly irritated that they were still bugging her. As she handed her snowy owl the letter, and watched it sour off into the skies, she heard a knock. Turning around, "Come in!" she called out to the door as she sat back down on her chair and composed herself for her guest.

Jan entered the door to see the Headmistress at her desk. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything," Jan said, before walking in and closing the door behind her. "But, I'll make this really quick. It looks like I have to be called away from Hogwarts for some time." She hoped the she didn't try to pry into a more detail reason for her long absence.

Lizzie nodded rather lazily, she was dragged down by the lack of sleep she had got since the owls poured in concerns since the morning. "And how long is some time?" she asked, too lazy to remember what she was supposed to ask and do. She then realised that the woman standing in front of her was the History of Magic Professor so someone would have to arrange for cover. And clearly, that someone would have to be her.

"Three weeks the most," Jan answered the Headmistress. "I acutally have the lesson plans all written out for whoever will be covering my class." She reached into her pocket and took a out a minature pile of parchment and folders. "Engorgio," she said to the pile in her hand. It enlarged so it was back to it's regular shape. She handed the papers over to the Headmistress.

Lizzie nodded as she took the parchment, she observed it, "Ok, I'm sure someone can cover them." she said as she placed the papers on her desk. She glanced back up at Jan, "Going anywhere nice?" she asked. This was Lizzie's way of asking why and where she was going, but she was too tired to say it all so she went for something shorter.

"Um, to Africa," Jan hesitated for a moment. There was no need to completely lie. "I have some family there. And, they kind of need me at the moment." But, then again, she couldn't possibly tell the whole truth. "I'm afriad you won't be able to reach me by owl or anything," Jan said. "But, I will try and make an effort to let you know when I will be returning."

Lizzie nodded, too lazy to ask why. "Ok, I'll get someone to cover for you then. And when will you be leaving?" she asked as she tapped the small table clock that sat on her desk. It immediately enlarged itself into an calender, and a quill appeared floating in the air, waiting to write down the dates.
