Lana walked up to the owlery after writing a long letter to her grandmother letting her know that she made a safe trip to Hogwarts. She was close to her father, but she was really close to her grandmother. Lana heard stories on how her grandmother was able cover attacks on muggles by blaming it on the muggle government, which in turned caused muggles to turn on one another.
She called down one of the school owls and tied the letter on its leg before letting it go out of the window. She stood at the window still, watching the bird fly away. She wished she was old enough to join the Death Eaters. She heard stories from her grandfather about them, and they have always been her biggest hero. Of course, their identity are hidden for their protection, but she still admired them.
She was lost in her thoughts of how she would become a Death Eater when she heard someone walk into the owlery. She turned around and saw...

Sami walked up the stairs thinking she had to be the only Mudblood Slytherin in the history of...well Forever. She didn't care. Muggles were horrible. All of them. She was older than most people here. Sami sighed, confused. She finally got to the Owlery and saw a girl of her own house. Sami nodded and walked past her.

Lana nodded back, but soon realized this girl was also in her house. She got excited finally meeting someone in her own house. She was hoping that she wasn't a blood-traitor like the other two she met at the lake. The one thing Lana could take into comfort was that this girl wasn't a muggle. Slytherin never let in muggles...or at least that's the impression she got.
"Hey," she called out to the girl. "What's your name?"

"Sami," She answered quietly. Sami hated making conversation. She worried she may tell people she was a Mudblood-Slytherin. She didn't want to get a rep as the child of a dumb-as-nails Muggle. The were Bloody useless. Sami looked at her, "And You are?"

"Lana," she said, pointing to herself. "So, you're in Slytherin, right?" It was a stupid question, but Lana never really had good conversational skills. It was better than nothing. She didn't really have alot of friends growing up, but she's hoping coming to Hogwarts would change that.

"No where else I rather be..." Sami said truthfully. "I was born to be in Slytherin. Maybe not born, but what my family shaped me up to be..."
Sami frowned, thinking on what she had said, "Don't ask what I mean by that. I'd rather not talk about that..."

Lana looked at Sami and thought that it would be best if she didn't pry. She had secrets herself that she didn't want expose either. "Don't worry, I won't," Lana said cooly. She, turned on her heels to face the other school owls and petted one of them on the lower rung. "So, how do you like Hogwarts so far?"

"It's the same as last year, I never show up for classes, piss off teachers, and wallow in my self-inflicted misery... But that's how I like it." Sami smirked, "A lot of first years think they're so bad. But they're as maniacal as a box of kittens, no offense. Then there's Mudblood lovers. They're worse then Mudbloods."
((lol she's like those white kids who think they are black. She has a reason to hate muggles, though.))

Lana nodded in agreement. Maybe Sami isn't as mad as Lana thinks she is. "Well, I totally agree with you on the mudblood lovers part," Lana said. "Mudbloods have no choice. They're born into their stupid dull life. But, wizards and witches who love muggles and everything about them...that's just sick. They might as well just break their wands in half and walk around in muggle clothing all day."

Sami let out a rare small laugh, "Totally agree. I guess you're right. Mudbloods are just born that way. The Mugglelovers are just plain stupid..."
Sami sighed, happily. She didn't mind this kid. She was funny and didn't extremely hate mudbloods. Sami couldn't believe she was actually smiling.

"Yeah," Lana said nodding. She was glad to have found another friend. Just then, another owl swooped into the owlery. She immediately recognized the owl as her grandmother's. "That was fast," Lana said as she untied the letter from its feet. "Sorry, Liuliu. I don't have any treats on me." She petted the owl and opened the letter from her grandmother. She smiled as she reached the end of the letter. It seem that her grandmother had just sent an owl to see if she made it to Hogwarts alright. Sometimes, Lana feels that her and her grandmother has this connection that's hard to explain. "I just sent my grandmother the letter she's asking for in this letter," Lana said, laughing and showing Sami the letter. "I swear, she can read my mind sometimes." Lana tucked the letter away into her robes. "So are you grandparents still alive?"

"Probably," Sami said, "I just stay with my foster family because they apparently don't want me."
Sami often wondered who the hell her grandparents were, and why they never bothered to take her away from her foster parents. She didn't want them to though. Her foster parents were atleast wizards, eventhough they we're Muggleborn like herself.

"Well, that must suck," Lana said. "To not live with your real parents. Do you know who they are?"
Every pure-blood family knew almost every other pure-blood family. If she had a hint of pure-blood in her, Lana might have heard the name being dropped by her grandparents or by her parents.

"Not really..." She lied, "All I know is they were wizards, probably not pure purebloods...But yah...Touchy subject."

"Hmm, yeah,' Lana said. "Well, it's always a sensitive subject." Lana knew she didn't like Muggles, so it really didn't matter what her blood status was. It's not like Lana wasn't a pure-blood either, a fact her step-mother liked to remind her every once in a while.
