Alright, maybe I'm just procrastinating or maybe I felt this board should have thread, but I'm just going to ramble a bit. You can all add your two cents. Ron Weasley I think I can say with full confidence that he is my favorite character. He's hilarious and I think one of the most realistic character. He's such a guy and that's part of his charm that makes him so lovable and funny. However, I know there are some people that aren't big fans of him. *cough*Harry/Hermione shippers* They think he's "weak" and "stupid." I would like to argue that he is neither. Yeah, he's a bit lazy with his schoolwork, but what boy his age isn't? Sometimes he knows more than Hermione. Hermione might be book smart and blah blah blah, but Ron gives Harry the real magical world version. And, how can he be weak if he's the one that sacrificed himself in the first book. Oh, how about all those times he wanted to kill Draco everytime he makes fun of Hermione. Was he a wimp because he wanted to attack Draco?? Okay, that's enough...I'll ramble on when other people write stuff.

Ron is one of my favorites too. His character is just fun yet it's believable to have a person like that. I bet everyone could name at least one person in their life that reminds them of Ron which you can't always do for some of the other characters...
He's not stupid at all. There's a big difference between lazy and stupid.

I love Ron! I think he's really funny, I just think that maybe the movies make him look like a bit of a wimp, when he isn't a wimp at all in the books. He's brave and courageous as a Gryffindor should be. To be fair, though, I'd have to say Harry/Hermione shippers don't all hate Ron. I know a few that love him, but hate Ginny.

I really like the way Rupert Grint portrays Ron in the films to be honest. His Ron is pretty much the Ron I think of when I read the books (even with that mop he calls hair).
Is anyone here a Harry/Hermione shipper? Because I don't know how people ever got confused with them being more than friends...

True, alot of people don't like Ginny either. I'm not a Harry/Hermione shipper. Even before I really got into the books and started reading between the lines, I never thought of Hermione and Harry. I sensed a bit of Ron and Hermione. I actually thought it was going to be one of those children's book where boys and girls stay platonic. But, my little sister, who was into the books then, pointed all the clues for me, and that's when I realized that JKR is actually adding romance.

No, I'm not a Harry/Hermione shipper. Ron/Hermione all the way! I told my mum about what JKR said, that it is Ron and Hermione, and she was like "Oh, I thought Hermione and Harry would get together." I just gave her a weird look and said no. I'm not really a Harry/Ginny shipper, though. I saw it coming a little bit, but I always thought Harry would be better off alone.

Lol but the thing is, my mum had read the books. She hasn't read OotP or HBP, though, so yeah, that may be why lol. Lol adults have weird ships sometimes... not all, just some. But kids have weird ships too sometimes, mainly teenagers. A few of my friends are Draco/Ginny or Severus/Hermione shippers. Well, they don't actually ship it, they just read the fanfics. Anyway, most of that post was a ramble...
